When installing in its position (just before the flange is inserted into the SCR box), the N0x sensor is placed inside the exhaust pipe. This is due to the fact that a distance of a few centimetres is required in order to optimise the measurements and to avoid the presence of a thermal barrier. If this condition is not met, then problems may arise in the process and the emissions may be modified. The N0x can be positioned in its final place after the exhaust pipe has been fixed on the SCR box. The flange is preferably installed on the SCR box using a fixation system. In some cases, only a one-way bolt, a simple nut or a simple clip is used, depending on the type of exhaust pipe. 2.2.6.1.3 Fuel quantity The quantity of exhaust gas must be considered when deciding on the amount of fuel to use in the burner. If too much fuel is used, the exhaust gas will be too rich and the nitrogen oxide levels will increase.
